Portland, OR - Thousands of miles from home and with much of the Alpenrose Stadium crowd chanting for its underdog opponents, Southeast representative Warner Robins, Ga., couldn't be blamed for feeling a bit uncomfortable before the championship of the Little League Softball World Series on Wednesday.
But less than a half-inning later and with a four-run lead in tow, the defending champions were suddenly right where they wanted to be.
14U San Jose Sting - ASA Champs
No team swept the 14U ASA National Championships on Sunday, but 4 teams came very close. 95 Corona Angels of So Cal, managed by Art Soto, Sorcerer of Concord, Ca, managed by Kiko Garcia, Northern California San Jose Sting, managed by Kit Perales and So Cal Jynx managed by Mari Larios. By the end of the quarter finals, San Jose Sting was the only team standing undefeated to play the championship game. 95 Corona Angeles battled that game with a 2-1 win forcing a second championship game.
