A member of the WNBA All-Decade team, Thompson has been named to the All-WNBA team eight times and was the WNBA All-Star Game MVP in 2000.

Diamonds Win Another over Racers - This one in Walk off Fashion

NASHVILLE, Tenn. _ Angeline Quiocho hit her first ever walk-off home run as a pro softball player to give the Tennessee Diamonds a 4-3 win over the Akron Racers.

Quiocho pounded the ball over the center field fence with two outs in seventh inning Friday night in front of 328 fans at Draper Diamond on the campus of Lipscomb University.

“After I hit it I was hoping it would bounce off the fence so I could be on second base for Jamie Lobpries to hit me in,” Quiocho said.

Thompson's buzzer-beater lifts Sparks

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Tina Thompson's buzzer-beating jump shot lifted the Los Angeles Sparks to a 78-77 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Thursday, and kept the Sparks' playoff hopes alive.

Lindsey Whalen hit two free throws with 1.1 seconds remaining to give the Lynx a 77-76 lead.

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - The Chicago Red Stars of Women’s Professional Soccer announce today the signing of Spanish international forward Veronica Boquete. Per team policy, terms of Boquete’s contract are not released.

Boquete recently led the Buffalo Flash to the 2010 United Soccer Leagues W-League Championship on July 31. Boquete scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 63rd minute, as Buffalo defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps, 3-1, for the title. She earned W-League Championship Most Valuable Player honors.

Below reflects a statement from Jordan regarding the specifics of the reason due to a personal medical issue. Former USA Softball athlete Michelle Gromacki (Fullerton, Calif.) accepted the coaching position with the 2010 USA Softball Women’s National Team in place of Jordan.
