Tina Thompson - The first draft pick in WNBA history, Thompson was selected by the Houston Comets in 1997 and helped lead them to WNBA championships in each of the WNBA’s first four seasons, and into the playoffs in 10 of her 12 years. A member of the WNBA All-Decade team, Thompson has been named to the All-WNBA team eight times and was the WNBA All-Star Game MVP in 2000.

Portland, OR - Thousands of miles from home and with much of the Alpenrose Stadium crowd chanting for its underdog opponents, Southeast representative Warner Robins, Ga., couldn't be blamed for feeling a bit uncomfortable before the championship of the Little League Softball World Series on Wednesday.
But less than a half-inning later and with a four-run lead in tow, the defending champions were suddenly right where they wanted to be.

18U US National Team Begins
OKLAHOMA CITY USA— The 17-member USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team leaves Monday for the III Pan American Softball Championship (18-Under) in Bogota, Colombia, where they will attempt to qualify for the 2011 International Softball Federation (ISF) IX Junior Women's World Championship (19-Under), December 6-17, 2011, in Cape Town, South Africa. The qualifier, August 6-15, marks the first international competition for all 17 members of Team USA.
